The unofficial activities director of Long Story Lane. Officially, nobody voted.
Gladys has never been one to blend into the background, and frankly, she doesn’t understand why anyone would want to.
With her oversized glasses, bold fashion choices, and unapologetic love of leopard print, Gladys believes there’s no such thing as being overdressed or having too much personality.
She’s outspoken, opinionated, a little bossy, and perfectly comfortable telling you exactly how things ought to be done. And on the rare occasion she manages to keep her mouth shut, her facial expressions will happily finish the conversation.
Before Long Story Lane
A former PTO president, Gladys spent years organizing fundraisers, directing school events, and voluntelling unsuspecting parents exactly where they needed to be and when.
Her reign was legendary, her committees were efficient, and there are probably still school administrators who break into a cold sweat at the mention of her name.
Life on the Lane
Retirement hasn’t slowed Gladys down one bit.
As the self-appointed activities director of Long Story Lane, she keeps the neighborhood calendar full of gatherings, celebrations, and adventures. Naturally, she sees little reason to complicate matters by asking people whether they’d like to participate.
Around here, you don’t volunteer for Gladys’s plans. You get voluntold.
But beneath all that confidence and commanding personality is someone who genuinely loves her friends and believes life is better when people come together.
Gladys might be the first to suggest a questionable adventure, but she’ll also be the first one in the car, ready to make memories.
Life on Long Story Lane would certainly be quieter without her.
Not that she’d ever allow that to happen.
